New Delhi: At least five people were killed and nearly 50 others injured, including 10 in critical condition, after a truck rammed into pedestrians at bus stop in Tel Aviv, close to the Mossad headquarters on Sunday, October 27, 2024, reported Hebrew media.
Unconfirmed reports claim that at least 50 people died and many injured in the incident.
The incident occurred after a truck rammed into a bus stop at Tel Aviv’s Glilot Junction. The region is home to the Mossad headquarters along with several IDF intelligence units.
The suspected terror attack took place when a truck collided with a bus and pedestrians near a bus stop close to the Glilot military base near the Mossad headquarters, according to the Israeli Radio.
The driver was reportedly neutralized by bystanders at the scene. Hospitals in Tel Aviv were placed on high alert as they prepared to treat the large number of casualties, many of whom were soldiers.
“Some 33 people were wounded to various degrees, with one succumbing to his wounds after a truck rammed into a bus stop near Glilot in central Israel on Sunday,” Israeli emergency medical service Magen David Adom (MDA) reported on Sunday.
