Isha Ambani, heiress to the Ambani legacy, is leading Reliance Retail, driving various projects forward with a vision to honor the work of her grandfather Dhirubhai Ambani and father Mukesh Ambani. Her twin brother, Akash Ambani, chairs Reliance Jio, showing how the siblings are each steering key arms of the Reliance empire. Both Akash and Isha married their partners in grand celebrations just three months apart, capturing widespread attention. However, few know that Akash postponed his wedding to Shloka Mehta for Isha’s sake. In a 2019 Vogue interview, Isha shared that Akash was the first to get engaged, with wedding dates set, but he chose to wait, displaying his compassionate nature. She described him as the most “dayalu” (compassionate) person she knows.

“‘I’ll get married afterwards, you take my wedding dates.’ He’s like one of the most—I don’t think there’s a word for it in English—’dayalu’ humans in this world. He’s empathetic, gracious and gentle, just like Shloka,” bollywoodshaadis.com quoted Isha as saying.

In the same interview, Isha Ambani shared that her sister-in-law Shloka Mehta’s sister, Diya, is her best friend, and that her friendship with Shloka began when they were classmates. Isha described Shloka as being part of their family from the very beginning. She also spoke about her husband Anand’s bond with her brothers, noting that her spiritual husband is well-loved by both Akash and Anant, who regard him as an older brother.

Additionally, Isha opened up about her and Akash’s journey as IVF babies. She revealed that her parents, Nita and Mukesh Ambani, became parents after seven years of marriage, and her mother dedicated herself to full-time parenting until the twins turned five, after which she returned to work. Isha candidly shared her story to normalize the conversation around IVF.
