Vande Bharat Sleeper Train: The first prototype of the much-anticipated Vande Bharat sleeper train is reportedly ready for a test run and will soon be operational. The Indian Railways recently shared the first images of the state-of-the-art Vande Bharat sleeper train, which is tipped to gradually replace the Rajdhani Express– the staple and flag-bearer of sleeper trains in the country– in a phased manner.

Lets dive into some of the amazing features of the Vande Bharat sleeper train which make it a far better option than the beloved Rajdhani and the Shatabdi Express:

Vande Bharat Sleeper safety features:

The Vande Bharat sleeper train is equipped with advanced safety features, including several hi-tech ‘Kavach’ systems installed aboard the train to prevent collisions. Apart from the latest version of the ‘Kavach’ anti-collision technology, the train is also fitted with an anti-climbing system to prevent accidents.

Vande Bharat sleeper facilities

Earlier this year, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw gave a sneak peek of the some of the facilities aboard the Vande Bharat sleeper trains, revealing that they will be “state-of-the-art” carriages, offering modern amenities and all the latest features to passengers for a new experience in safety and comfort never before witnessed in train travel in India.

Vaishnaw revealed that the air conditioning system aboard the Vande Bharat sleeper trains has been improved and the seat cushions have been integrated with tech-enabled features providing a comfortable experience to passengers. Additionally, the vibration and noise levels inside the Vande Bharat sleeper train coaches will be significantly reduced compared to regular sleeper trains, the minister had said.

The trains also also feature a better-designed climbing ladder for the sleeper berth, including the foot contact area, to make it more accessible and user-friendly, besides offering well-designed mobile charging and storage spaces, designed for passenger comfort and ease-of-access.

Newly-released images and the videos of the Vande Bharat sleeper train prototype revealed that the train also features touch sensor-enabled doors, touch-free bio-vacuum toilets, and talk-back units.
